Test Manager

Purpose of the Job:
As Test Manager, you will take the lead in defining and driving the test strategy for our AV and KVM product portfolio—particularly our flagship
Emerald
family.
You will own product quality from planning to release, lead international teams across
Limerick and
Bengaluru
, and accelerate our testing maturity through
AI-driven automation
and modern test practices.
This is more than a technical role—it's a leadership position for someone ready to drive efficiency, coach high-performing teams, and champion quality in every release.
Primarily Roles & Responsibilities
Develop and own test strategies and plans for new product launches and feature rollouts.
Lead the evolution of our test automation framework, with a focus on AI-powered efficiency and coverage.
Architect robust test automation and coach engineers on continuous innovation.
Plan and execute test cycles within an Agile environment.
Represent QA in planning, sprint reviews, and product status meetings.
Configure and maintain advanced test labs for AV/KVM environments.
Manage the software release lifecycle within Black Box's quality process.
Partner with Product Management and Engineering to validate requirements and ensure optimal test coverage.
Provide hands-on leadership and mentoring to test teams in India and Ireland.
Lead resolution of critical customer issues through accurate test replication.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Required
·Deep understanding of testing methodologies for embedded systems and applications.
·Strong software architecture skills and development skills for test automation applications.
·Strong analytical, reporting, and trend analysis skills.
·Broad knowledge of networking protocols: switching, routing, DNS, DHCP, multicasting.
·OS configuration expertise across Windows, Linux, MAC and Windows Server environments.
·Familiarity with AV components: video, USB, audio, and PC hardware.
·Proficiency in automation tools for both web and embedded systems.
·Strong scripting abilities (PowerShell, Linux shell).
·Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally across R&D, product, and operations.
·Proven success in leading diverse engineering teams and driving their professional growth.
Highly Desirable Skills and Knowledge
·Experience testing apps on Windows, iOS, and Android.
·Hands-on with virtualization platforms: VMware, Citrix, Windows Server.
·Familiarity with automation tools such as Jenkins, Selenium, Puppet, and custom scripts.
·Strong grasp of AV and networking convergence in enterprise environments.
Education/Experience Requirements
·12+ years of relevant product testing experience.
·Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Supervisory Responsibility
Direct management and professional development of R&D Test teams in
Limerick, Ireland and Bengaluru
