About the Role
The Compliance Manager will ensure the business meets its regulatory and compliance obligations. The role provides expert advice and oversight across a range of compliance activities, from monitoring and policy development to training, reporting and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with management and external regulators, the Compliance Manager will foster a positive compliance culture, promote best practice and safeguard the organisation’s integrity and reputation.
IPB Insurance is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. The Compliance Manager is a Controlled Function (CF) and must meet the Fitness and Probity Standards and the Conduct Standards introduced under the Central Bank (Individual Accountability Framework) Act 2023. Enhanced pre‑employment screening and ongoing fit and proper status are required.
Responsibilities
* Conduct compliance monitoring and resolve identified compliance issues.
* Communicate and interpret legislative and regulatory requirements to internal stakeholders.
* Perform impact assessments on upcoming legislation and manage identified gaps.
* Maintain compliance registers, including incidents and thematic obligations.
* Develop and deliver the annual compliance training programme.
* Draft, review and implement compliance‑related policies and procedures.
* Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the Board.
* Oversee compliance‑related third‑party and vendor relationships.
* Coordinate regulatory reviews and manage interactions with the Central Bank of Ireland.
* Support key governance processes, including the Fitness & Probity regime.
What we’re looking for
* Professional compliance qualification (e.g. LCOI, ACOI) and ideally a third‑level qualification in Legal, Compliance or a related discipline.
* Experience within the Insurance or broader Financial Services sector.
* Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and operational risk management requirements.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret data and produce reports.
* Confident communicator who can engage effectively at all levels, including senior stakeholders.
* Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
