for the global pharmaceutical industry to hire an
Engineering Manager
based in Cork.
This is a key leadership position overseeing the
Mechanical Design Engineering team
, driving excellence in project delivery, process improvement, and customer satisfaction across a range of GMP-compliant equipment solutions.
As Engineering Manager, you'll lead a multidisciplinary design function responsible for developing precision-engineered systems used by major pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide. You'll manage project delivery from concept through to manufacture, ensuring outputs meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

with a background in
mechanical design and project-based manufacturing
who thrives on translating complex customer requirements into robust engineering outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead and develop a high-performing Mechanical Design team, ensuring project delivery meets scope, quality, budget, and schedule.
* Work cross-functionally with Project Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to align technical deliverables with project goals.
* Drive continuous improvement across design workflows, documentation standards, and engineering processes.
* Champion design efficiency through standardisation, modularisation, and the effective use of CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks).
* Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration within the engineering function.
* Support business growth by delivering customer-centric solutions and maintaining strong communication with key stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* 10+ years' experience in mechanical design, preferably in a
project-based manufacturing or equipment design
environment.
* Proven leadership and team management experience, with a track record of delivering complex technical projects.
* Strong understanding of
GMP design principles
and experience working within
pharma, life sciences, or high-spec manufacturing
environments.
* Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidEdge, SolidWorks) and engineering documentation.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
