Job Title: Financial Controller
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who brings strong practical finance skills.
1. Lead the day-to-day finance function, including oversight of accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll
2. Prepare monthly management accounts and monitor cash flow across multiple locations, ensuring strong liquidity and operational efficiency
3. Oversight of credit control processes, ensuring timely collections and reducing debtor days
4. Develop and maintain internal financial controls and standard operating procedures
5. Prepare VAT returns and support the budgeting and financial planning process across the business
6. Liaise with external accountants and advisors for annual accounts, tax, and audit matters
7. Support operational and leadership teams with financial analysis, insights, and reporting
Requirements:
* Min 3-5 years in a similar role
* Strong practical experience in financial management, ideally within a multi-site service
* Proven track record managing credit control, cash flow, and transactional finance
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Skilled in accounting systems Sage, Xero and MS Office
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
