This role involves close collaboration with design teams, ESB partners, and Contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead conceptual design of high voltage cable projects and interfaces with substations and overhead line equipmentLead detailed design including cable ratings and bonding systemsConduct due diligence of internal and external designs to ensure compliance with relevant specificationsDevelop and maintain design risk assessments for all engineering deliverablesMentor and support junior staff development, cultivate technical capability across the groupCo-ordinate with internal and external stakeholders to progress projects through all lifecycle stages and governance gatesExperience and QualificationsEssentialLevel 8 Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalentMinimum 5 years of relevant electrical or mechanical engineering experienceHigh level of specialist expertise and strong technical capabilityProven ability to manage significant projects or key aspects of projectsStrong safety awareness and communication skillsValid driver's license for ROI, access to a car, and flexibility to travel nationwideDesirableChartered status or working towards it in a recognized professional institutionExperience in utility or linear infrastructure projects, manufacturing or contractingStrong commercial and project management skillsExperience in performing the role of designer and / or PSDP on projectsLocationThis position will be based in ESB E&MP's Offices in Dublin or Eastgate Cork.ESB is committed to smart working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working.
