OverviewProject Communications Advisor – Secondment. RPS, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Project Communications Advisor to be based in Dublin / Cork. This is a full-time role (5 days per week) seconded to a client team, involving on-site work in the client’s office 3 days per week and from RPS offices 2 days per week. What You Will Be DoingThis position supports our client’s project communications and infrastructure delivery teams to ensure the successful delivery of water and wastewater projects. The portfolio includes hundreds of water services projects with an approximate value of €1bn per annum, involving new and upgraded water and wastewater facilities and networks. The role provides technical communications support to ensure delivery of these projects.Key activities include working directly with the Corporate Affairs Project and Communities team within a regional model (South West, South East Midlands, East, North West). The team is responsible for project communications across the Infrastructure Delivery portfolio, regional stakeholder management, media and elected representatives query resolution, incident management and national campaigns and sponsorships.
The Project Communications Advisor Will Have Responsibility ForDelivering communications on projects to achieve the client’s vision and objectivesDevising and implementing project communications plansInternal stakeholder engagement with technical colleagues and multi-disciplinary teams, preparing internal reports and presenting at internal meetingsExternal stakeholder engagement including contractors, residents’ associations, interest groups and elected representativesWriting project briefing sheets, press releases, website articles, social media content, etc.Developing messages to make technical information accessible to the general public, businesses, elected representatives and other stakeholdersPlanning and delivering public information/public consultation events and online eventsOrganising, attending, presenting, and taking minutes at stakeholder meetingsEvent management for ministerial sod turnings and openings of water and wastewater projectsStakeholder mapping, relationship management and maintaining contact databases in line with GDPRNote: Key responsibilities may evolve over time with the business
Who We Are Looking ForStrong communications advisory skills with the ability to guide multidisciplinary project teams on effective project communicationsProven professional experience in communications for infrastructure projects, with construction-stage experience preferredMinimum of 5 years’ post-graduate relevant experience in communications, primarily relating to infrastructure or climate action projectsStrong communications and report writing skills with excellent stakeholder managementExperience in devising and implementing successful communications strategies, including developing collateral, media and social media campaigns, event management and stakeholder engagementProven ability to work closely with clients to achieve high levels of satisfaction and win-win outcomesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical skills and the ability to develop communications strategies and plans for designated areasAbility to prioritise tasks, manage schedules, and allocate resources while focusing on team goalsAbility to organise and manage key events (project launches, public consultations)Proven experience delivering projects in deadline-driven and evolving environmentsDemonstrable account management experience including managing client relationships and reporting
QualificationsHonours degree (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) in a relevant field: Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Behavioural Economics, Law or Business
