Caregiver Role
Our organization is seeking a compassionate Caregiver to join our team. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.
About the Role:
1. Assist residents with daily living activities such as washing, toileting, dressing, and undressing.
2. Provide emotional and spiritual support to residents, ensuring they feel comfortable and dignified.
3. Monitor residents with limited mobility or physical/learning difficulties, making use of available aids.
4. Pay close attention to residents who may be confused or have behavioral problems.
5. Assist in promoting continence and delivering end-of-life care.
6. Participate in social activities by interacting with residents and helping them continue with hobbies and interests.
7. Answer nurse call systems, provide assistance as required, and respond promptly to messages.
8. Report on resident well-being under the supervision of senior care staff.
9. Conduct regular checks on residents at intervals determined by senior staff members.
10. Make visitors feel welcome, provide refreshments and assistance as needed.
11. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of rooms, commodes, and Nursing Home resources.
12. Clean and maintain equipment used by residents.
13. Prioritize resident privacy and dignity, especially for those who are dying or bereaved.
14. Assist with meal times, serving food and drinks, and washing up as requested.
15. Escort residents to and from the Nursing Home for social outings and hospital visits.
16. Practice integrity in all dealings with residents' personal and financial affairs.
Requirements:
* Genuine interest in working in a caring environment.
* Able to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Willingness to be part of a team.
* FETEC/NFQ 5 or equivalent, with a willingness to participate in training and development.
