Overview
We’re looking for a Senior In-House Counsel to join our team and play a key role in shaping the company’s legal strategy. You’ll provide expert legal advice across corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, and compliance matters. This is a rare opportunity to join a privately held, profitable conglomerate with 600 team members spanning more than 30 countries and operating through independent business units. As Senior In-House Counsel, you will establish and elevate the legal function, ensuring Yomali’s continued growth is supported by robust legal frameworks and sound governance at every stage of our international expansion. The role offers direct access to the governance committee and the authority to implement transformative legal strategies to advance the group’s international growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic legal advice to leadership on corporate, M&A, employment, and compliance matters in multiple jurisdictions
* Develop legal frameworks that minimize exposure to liability and manage legal risks
* Address complex legal issues proactively, with a focus on anticipating and mitigating future risks, especially in international contexts
* Manage and oversee all aspects of contract review, negotiation, and drafting
* Represent the company in discussions with external counsel, regulatory agencies, and during key transactions
* Lead policy development and periodic review in collaboration with department heads
* Support board governance and advise on corporate structure across regions
* Oversee and optimize compliance procedures for new legislation, products, and risk management initiatives
* Collaborate effectively with business leaders and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with company policies and initiatives
* Support leadership in enterprise projects with global legal implications, including cross-border transactions
Qualifications
* Law degree from a recognized university
* Bar membership requirements to be defined (flexible for draft stage)
* Extensive senior-level experience as in-house counsel, with clear capability to lead cross-functional legal initiatives
* Proven track record in corporate, M&A, employment, and compliance
* Demonstrated international legal experience; familiarity with payment processing is beneficial
* Highly analytical, creative, and proactive approach to legal problem-solving
* Sophisticated drafting, negotiation, and risk assessment skills
* Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
* Experience with industry-standard legal software and modern contract management tools
