Job Description
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in Dublin.
You will join an experienced team in a predominantly office-based role, responsible for developing and delivering mechanical designs to ensure safe and compliant installations on site.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing in conjunction with fire strategy reports, local building regulations, and planning authority requirements.
* Conducting site surveys of existing installations where applicable.
* Producing heating/cooling (thermal modelling) and ventilation load calculations using industry software.
* Sizing and selecting components such as AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, ASHP, boilers, and heat exchangers.
* Producing above-ground drainage calculations and sizing drainage systems.
* Sizing and selecting domestic hot and cold-water equipment.
* Producing pipe and duct sizing calculations using industry software or spreadsheets.
* Optional: Sizing and selecting firefighting sprinkler and pumping systems.
* Preparing stage reports and presentations.
* Developing Designers Risk Assessment and Mitigation Reports.
* Detailing mechanical layouts and schematics for construction.
* Producing detailed design and survey reports.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience in Mechanical Building Services Engineering for construction.
* Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
* Good knowledge of standards such as CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS, EN Irish, UK standards, or ASHRAE.
* Proficiency with design software like Hevacomp, Carrier HAP, CyMap, IES/TAS.
* Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
