Senior Safety Advisor - Civil Construction - Waterford
A leading Civil Contractor in Waterford has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Safety Advisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supervise, support and guide all project safety advisors under your control.
* Promote safe working practices and manage the implementation of company HSE policy and procedures on the project.
* Carry out regular site HSE inspections and report findings to relevant personnel.
* Ensure that the project team has been provided with the relevant HSE documentation.
* Ensure that HSE project plans meet company standards.
* Ensure that HSE issues are discussed at project review meetings.
* Manage the maintenance of clear records to comply with company internal and external audit standards.
* Assist the site management team and sub-contractor owners with risk assessments and sub-contractor evaluations and documentation review when requested.
* Deliver HSE training where appropriate and as agreed with the Project Manager.
* Suggest, communicate and promote initiatives for incident prevention and forward to the Project Manager / HSE &Sustainability Manager for consideration.
* Support the Project Manager in incident investigation.
* Monitor the adequacy and timely close out of incident reporting and HSE inspections.
* Liaising with the relevant legal authorities (i.e. H.S.A, EPA etc.).
TO BE CONSIDERED
* Level 8 qualification in health and safety.
* Proven postgraduate experience in project HSE management.
* Successful experience as a chartered Project Safety Advisor.
* Thorough knowledge of OHSAS 45001.
* Chartered membership of IOSH.
* Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
* Capable of leading major accident investigations internally.
