Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on building economics, preparing capital cost estimates, and drafting contract packages.
* Pre-Contract responsibilities would include:
o Preparing comprehensive capital cost estimates to inform investment decisions.
o Providing expert advice on building economics to ensure optimal project outcomes.
o Producing detailed lifecycle cost estimates to support informed decision-making.
o Assisting with tendering procedures and contract arrangements to ensure smooth project delivery.
o Drafting contract packages, including advice on amendments to standard forms, to protect the interests of all parties involved.
o Preparing pricing documents for tender packages to ensure transparency and clarity.
* During the tendering phase responsibilities would include:
o Providing expert advice on tendering procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
o Drafting instructions to tenderers to clearly outline expectations and requirements.
o Developing tender evaluation criteria to ensure fair and transparent assessment of bids.
o Drafting PQQ questionnaires to gather necessary information from potential tenderers.
o Handling queries during the tender period to ensure timely and effective communication.
o Commercial evaluation of all tender submissions to ensure value for money.
o Negotiating with tenderers to secure the best possible deal.
* Post Contract duties would include:
o Valuing progress on site for interim certificates to ensure accurate payment.
o Ascertainment of amounts due to contractors for price variation to maintain a fair and transparent relationship.
o Valuing proposed instructions to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
o Drafting responses to contractors' correspondence to maintain open communication channels.
o Determination of amounts of claims to ensure fair and timely resolution.
o Expediting contractors' insurances, bonds, and collateral warranties to minimize risk.
o Valuating contractors' final accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
