Applications invited for the following Post in the Technological University Dublin Post: Post-Doc Researcher in BioPharma Science HEMS Research Hub ARISE Project (Fixed-Term Specified Purpose Wholetime for up to 5 years with initial funding for 2 years) (Reference: 207/2025) Location: The post will be based at the TU Dublin Campus in Tallaght. Regular attendance at other sites will be required. Hours of Work:A 37 hour working week is in operation. Salary: The successful candidate will be appointed at point (01) of the Post-Doctoral Researcher Salary Scale i.e. €48,412 gross per annum. Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Incremental credit may apply in line with University policy. Closing Date: 5:00pm on Monday, September 2nd, 2025. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the appropriate mix of knowledge, experience,skills,talent and abilities required for the role as outlined below and must satisfy all of the essential criteria: Essential Knowledge Must possess a relevant doctoral degree in a BioPharmaceutical-related area or Chemistry (Medicinal/Synthetic/Analytical/Environmental/Pharmaceutical), from an approved degree awarding institution or equivalent (essential). Essential Experience Hands-on experience of, i) a wide range of synthetic chemistry techniques (such as small organic/ bioinorganic molecules, peptides, peptidomimetics, metallopeptides); ii) characterisation of these molecules by spectroscopic means (NMR, MS, IR, UV-vis, etc.), as well as analytical method development methods for a range of analytes (such as use of HPLC, uPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, and hyphenated MS/MS techniques) Experience of working with, and reporting to, clients (industrial partners/state agencies) Candidates will be shortlisted based on their demonstration of meeting every essential criterion and so are asked to clearly outline how their experience and qualifications meet the criteria above. Desirable Experience: Enzyme-catalysed synthesis of organic molecules Synthesis of deuterated or labelled (bio)molecules Experience of BioPharmaceuticals and BioPharmaceutical industry-related manufacturing techniques Experience of biological assessment of (bio)molecular entities (bioactivity/stability/toxicology) Successfully completed at least one Post-doctoral Fellowship, or equivalent in the public or private sector, of at least 3 years (in total) Candidates may be shortlisted on the basis of none, one or more of these desirable criteria and are asked to clearly outline how their experience and qualifications meet the criteria. Other requirements for the role Skills, talents & abilities Capable of working under own initiative Strong demonstrable written, verbal and technical communication skills Strong evidence of technical reporting and time management skills Proficient in using spreadsheets and graphical packages for statistical analysis Further information for Post-doctoral Researcher In the case of a 1st Post-doctoral Fellowship where the applicant may not have graduated yet, the successful applicant must, at the time of appointment, provide a letter from the appropriate graduate studies office confirming that the student has completed the programme including all the examination requirements and is just awaiting the formal graduation ceremony and the likely date on which that will take place.
