An international AA rated insurance underwriter, with an established network of brokers and clients operating in the specialist surety and credit insurance marketplace, is taking the opportunity to refresh, broaden and expand its business with the appointment of a new Branch/Country Manager. Specifically, you will be responsible for: Overseeing the company's operations in Ireland and ensuring corporate expansions run smoothly and efficiently, developing strategic plans for revenue growth and brand awareness Establishing objectives and guidelines, conducting market research and analysis to find international business and client opportunities Leading,organising, coordinating, monitoring sales within the branchin order toensure an appropriate approach for potential and existing clients Making internal proposals to bring the product more in line with local market standards,analysingthe local market, developing new products andtailor madesolutions Managing and developing internal (between different departments) and external relationships (policyholders, brokers, institutions and agencies involved in business)in order toensure an optimal management in line with the objectives and strategy of the company Representing the company with regard to local authorities, in particular tax and supervisory authorities, answering questions from local authorities, e.g. during tax audits in order to be in conformity with regulatory requirements Initiating the budget cycle and controlling the costsin order todefend the branchs performance towards the management Monitoring the branchs insureds portfolio; within the delegation rules Ensuring personnel management within the branch, coaching and supervising the staff membersin order tocreate a motivating work environment for the team Maintaining a strong brand and market representation To be successful in the role, you will need to have: A strong knowledge base of the country and region Expertise and a proven track record and knowledge of surety or credit insurance, and ideally both A demonstrable career trajectory of either underwriting and/or sales and business development Experience of working within an insurance underwriter though complimentary broker/MGA expertise would also be considered complimentary Team leadership or followship with strong collaborative and collegiate working style An understanding of the country's political and economic environment A proactive and dynamic approach, with high levels of energy and motivation Customer oriented and performance driven The ability to build relationships Analytical thinking Effective communication skills Skills: General Management Branch Management Managing team sales P&L Management P&L Responsibility Team Motivation Attracting new customers Benefits: Annual Bonus / 13th Cheque Company Vehicle
