Head of Port Design & Offshore Wind Supply Chain
Overview
The Head of Department role will form a part of the Offshore Group senior management team and its 50 engineers and consultants. This will be a combination role of external facing client management, commercial management along with team, resource and delivery responsibility for the current team of 8 in the ports team. We are looking to build on the recent project successes of working more client side in energy related marine development projects, providing strategic advice to offshore developers and due diligence to financiers. There is also a heritage of design and delivery clients, but keen to have this team utilize their technical know-how working closely with the Marine Advisory team - where high value services are offered in combination.
Role Description / Purpose
Head of Department Ports & Supply Chain
This is an exciting leadership opportunity to grow and expand our Ports team as a part of our multidisciplinary Offshore Design and Advisory Group. You and your team will collaborate with our Advisory Consultancy team offering clients advice, specialist technical advice and designs for marine project infrastructure. The breadth of team service delivery includes strategic planning, option due diligence, market studies, concept and detailed designs.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who can provide external market and consultancy focus, manage teams and take financial responsibility for profitability and growth as part of our Venterra global portfolio of offshore wind and marine infrastructure development plans.
Scope of the Ports Team activities
Market studies, infrastructure and supply chain readiness, feasibility, due diligence and bankability assessment, concept and detailed design, technical support to planning and EIA submissions and using technical consultancy for port and marine infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
Client management and work acquisition - external responsibilities will be to spearhead work acquisition and client relationship management focusing on offshore developers, Financiers, Port operators, supply chain and tier 1 contractors.
Team Delivery – ensuring department project delivery with the team to ensure adherence to quality standards, programme and cost. Act as a lead consultant and advisor to clients and taking a senior role in supporting management of projects.
Leadership & People Management – management of people development and growth, resourcing, department utilisation and recruitment.
Commercial – Participation in client sales acquisition, relationship management and ensuring departmental projects are delivered to budget
