The Role
TCS seeks a highly skilled and experienced Technical Product Owner who will be responsible for maximising the value of the product resulting from the work of the development team. This role involves close collaboration with the Product Manager, Business Owners, and development teams to translate high‑level product vision and strategy into actionable user stories and tasks. You will ensure that the team understands the product requirements and works to deliver high‑quality increments that meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Backlog Management
* Own and manage the team’s user stories within the product backlog, ensuring it is up to date, prioritised, and aligned with the product roadmap and strategic direction set by the Product Manager.
* Write clear, concise, and actionable user stories with well‑defined acceptance criteria.
* Continuously refine and prioritise the backlog based on stakeholder feedback, business value, and changing requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
* Work closely with the Product Manager to understand the product vision, strategy, and goals.
* Engage with Engineering teams, Architects and other stakeholders to gather technical requirements, feedback, and validate stories.
* Facilitate communication between stakeholders and the development team to ensure alignment.
Technical Leadership
* Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineering teams, ensuring that technical solutions are aligned with product requirements and business goals.
* Collaborate with Technology Solutions Architects and Integration Engineers to design and implement technically feasible solutions.
* Review and approve technical designs, ensuring they meet quality standards and align with the product vision.
Sprint Planning and Execution
* Participate in sprint planning meetings to help the team understand the requirements and prioritise tasks.
* Ensure that the development team has a clear understanding of user stories and acceptance criteria.
* Provide timely feedback and clarification to the development team during sprints.
Product Development and Delivery
* Collaborate with the development team to deliver high‑quality product increments that meet the defined requirements.
* Conduct regular reviews and demos of completed work to gather feedback and ensure alignment with business needs.
* Ensure that delivered features meet the acceptance criteria and are ready for release.
Continuous Improvement
* Monitor and evaluate product performance using metrics and KPIs and make data‑driven decisions to improve the product.
* Participate in retrospectives and other continuous improvement activities to enhance team performance and product quality.
* Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to inform product decisions.
Documentation and Communication
* Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for user stories, features, and product requirements.
* Communicate progress, risks, and issues to the Product Manager and other stakeholders.
* Ensure that all relevant information is shared with the development team in a timely manner.
Your Profile
Essential skills / knowledge / experience
* Degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems Analysis, Computer Applications, Computer Engineering, Computer Programming, or Management Information Systems.
* Strong proven relevant experience.
* Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Viva Engage, and Copilot.
* Experience with product documentation and service communications, including drafting feature updates and internal enablement materials.
* Strong process thinking and detail orientation, with a mindset for continuous improvement and user‑centric design.
* Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and articulate the business value of features and user stories.
* Ability to work across distributed teams, including engineering, architecture, and operations, and navigate global territory nuances.
* Proficiency in stakeholder engagement, including gathering feedback, managing priorities, and communicating progress. Ability to build trust with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
* Experience with Agile methodologies, especially Scrum and SAFe, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and PI planning.
* Comfort with change management and compliance frameworks, especially ITIL in global environments.
* Understanding lean IT principles and data driven approaches.

* SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager Certification
* Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
