Your new company

Your new organisation is a well-structured and competent design and construction firm who have over 50 years within the residential space in Ireland. They are a third generational family-run business and they currently have over 10 active development sites across Leinster - mainly on the outskirts of Dublin, North/South and West.
They have their own landbank where they build themselves but also provide build solutions to other large scale developers within the industry.
They are a well-respected firm with a strong management structure in place with a strong pipeline of work in the area of housing and apartments.

Your new role

Your new role is to be a well rounded site manager on one of their developments, which is on the development side, based in Carrickmines, South Dublin. This project is underway and has a good structure of management already in place, including a project manager, engineer and finishing foreman.

For this role, they want you to take over this project to free up the PM.
This position is initially an hourly paid role. It gives you a chance to look at them as an organisation for 6–12 months before committing to them for the long term. This has worked well in the past and gives you the benefit of being paid for each hour worked on site - typically 45-48 per week.
You will direct and, day to day, manage the quality and subcontractors. And move to a new project with them thereafter (12+ months remain).
It is a good time to join their expanding team

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be eligible for this position, you must have a proven track record of management on site, previously in the residential sector.

This can be for a builder or if you have run your own organisation for a number of years, doing renovations and new builds etc.
You dont need to be a wizard with I.T but you must be able to read drawings and be able to manage the subcontractors, give direction and manage the quality whilst being able to work well and use initiative if issues arise.
Coming from a trade or educational background is a benefit but not essential.

What you'll get in return

In return for the above, you will work for a great organisation that has a strong name within the industry and produces high-quality work.

You will be given the autonomy to run and manage a high-end build project. You will be left to your own devices but have strong support on site and from senior management.
You will be paid by the hour for what you work, and paid on a weekly basis. This is beneficial for earnings but also to see if you like the organisation before committing to a longer-term, salary-paid role, if that is what you'd entertain in the future. This is tried and tested by this developer.
Your hourly rates depend on if you are a PAYE worker or acting as self-employed.
The rates are typically between €30.00 and €40.00 per hour and paid for 45–50 hours per week. There may be extra scope for really strong managers.
You will be given good flexibility where required and an opportunity to progress up the ranks if that is something you will be after in the future.
They also operate away from Dublin City Centre, which is always a bonus, and will continue to do so indefinitely.
They are a great organisation to work for.
