About the Role
This role will involve being part of the New Product teams based in Dublin and dealing daily with our office in China. You will be involved in all aspects of new product development for the ROBUS range of lighting products. You will work closely with our manufacturers and our quality control, technical, marketing and sales teams in China, Australia, UK and Europe to ensure that we supply high-quality products to our customers. Training will be provided on all aspects of the role to ensure a smooth integration into the team.
Responsibilities
* Evaluate and test product samples to ensure wiring, installation, circuitry etc is installer friendly.
* Review specification and testing reports for new products and provide feedback.
* Provide support to NPD Technical Advisor and Sales team on ROBUS smart systems.
* Provide technical advice and support to the New product team on all product projects - New Products, Product Change, RD&I projects.
* Communicate quickly and effectively with our colleagues in our Guangzhou office, providing feedback and suggestions on product development, constantly pushing projects forward and working within project deadlines.
* Manage the technical files and supporting documents for NPD projects ensuring they are accurate and complete.
* Review supplier emails to spot opportunities to broaden the ROBUS range.
* Conduct market research and feedback on market requirements, meet with electrical contractors to gain insights into product installation and market trends.
* Answer Technical queries on new product launches.
Qualifications
* Background in Electrical, and Electronics Engineering.
Required Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Outlook and Word, is essential.
* Understanding of network fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, Layer 2/Layer 3 concepts).
* Ability to troubleshoot network-connected devices, including UDP broadcast/multicast communication.
* Familiarity with lighting control systems (LCS), IoT devices, or building automation technologies.
* Task focused with a proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
* A self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to learn, get involved in all aspects of the department and enjoy working in a fast-paced ambitious team.
