Role Description Senior Architectural Technologist - a senior technical role within the CSA team, responsible for the delivery of high-quality, regulation-compliant architectural design information from concept through to construction.
With 10+ years' experience, the successful candidate will lead complex technical packages, provide authoritative input on Building Regulations compliance—particularly Part B (Fire Safety) and Part M (Access & Use)—and support effective project delivery through clear communication and coordination.
Reporting lines The Senior Architectural Technologist reports directly to the CSA Department Manager.
Key Responsibilities Lead and assist in the preparation of detailed architectural design and construction information, suitable for contractor issue.
Ensure architectural designs are fully compliant with Irish Building Regulations, with particular emphasis on: Part B – Fire Safety Part M – Disability Access Support and contribute to Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) and Disability Access Certificate (DAC) submissions.
Resolve complex technical and detailing issues, including coordination with Structural, MEP, and specialist consultants.
Act as the architectural technical point of contact on assigned projects.
Communicate clearly with Project Managers, Clients, Consultants, and Contractors.
Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to junior team members.
Support construction - stage activities through responses to technical queries and site input where required.
Experience & Skills Required: Minimum 10 years' post-qualification experience as an Architectural Technologist.
Strong technical knowledge with proven experience delivering detailed design and construction packages.
Demonstrable experience with Part B (Fire Safety) and Part M (Access & Use).
Good understanding of statutory approvals, including Planning, FSC, DAC, and associated compliance requirements.
High level of proficiency in Auto CAD and Revit.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Experience on life-sciences projects.
Familiarity with BCAR compliance, processes, and construction-stage support.
Qualifications: Degree (or equivalent) in Architectural Technology or related discipline.
