We are currently seeking an experienced Customs Clearance Broker to join our Customs & Compliance team in Rathcoole. This is a key role responsible for the accurate and timely processing of import and export customs declarations, ensuring full compliance with Irish Revenue, EU customs regulations, and international trade requirements.
Working in a fast-paced environment, you will liaise closely with customers, carriers, warehouse teams, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth clearance of goods and excellent service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit import and export customs declarations using AIS, AES, IC2, and related systems
Ensure accurate tariff classification, customs valuation, origin determination, and application of duties and VAT
Review and verify commercial invoices, packing lists, licences, certificates, and proofs of origin
Monitor customs clearance status and proactively resolve Revenue queries or holds
Act as the main point of contact for customers on customs requirements, documentation, and clearance updates
Provide guidance on customs procedures, compliance, and Brexit-related requirements
Maintain accurate records in line with Irish and EU customs legislation
Support audits, compliance reviews, and risk identification
Manage daily clearance workloads to meet deadlines and service level targets
Contribute to reporting, KPIs, and continuous improvement of customs processes
About You
Minimum of 2 years experience in customs clearance or international freight operations
Strong working knowledge of Irish Revenue and EU customs regulations
Hands‑on experience with customs systems such as AIS, AES, ROS, IC2, or similar
Solid understanding of tariff classification, Incoterms, valuation, and duty/VAT rules
Irish Revenue Customs Qualification or equivalent desirable
Background in logistics, freight forwarding, distribution, or 3PL environments an advantage
Knowledge of bonded warehousing, IPR/OPR, or temporary import regimes
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability
Ability to manage deadlines in a high‑volume environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
