Job Description

We are seeking a strong and experienced Assigned Certifier/BCAR Inspector with full knowledge of Irish Building regulations to join our team in the Dublin office. The successful applicant will work with a talented and successful team within the practice, where they will have the opportunity to gain exposure working on a range of projects including residential (housing, apartments, student accommodation), commercial, hospitality and data centres.

This role involves a balance of leadership, time management, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure that all construction activities adhere to the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2014 and other relevant Irish building regulations.

Documentation Management:

Prepare and manage essential compliance documents, including commencement notices, inspection plans, certificates of compliance, and ancillary certificates.

·
Site Inspections:

Conduct regular site inspections to assess the quality of work and verify compliance with approved plans and building regulations.

·
Coordination:

Liaise with project stakeholders, including design teams, contractors, and local authorities, to facilitate smooth project progression and address any compliance issues.

·
Issue Resolution:

Identify and resolve any non-compliance issues promptly to maintain project timelines and standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

·
Educational Background:

A degree in a construction-related discipline such as Architecture, Building Surveying, Civil or Structural Engineering, or Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

·
Professional Registration:

Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RIAI, Engineers Ireland, SCSI).

·
Experience:

A minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role, with a thorough understanding of Building Control Legislation, Building Regulations, best practices, and industry guidance.

Technical Proficiency:

Strong knowledge of construction sequences, building materials, and methods.

·
Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.

·
Attention to Detail:

Meticulous approach to documentation and inspections to ensure all aspects of the project meet regulatory standards.

This role is vital in maintaining the integrity and safety of construction projects in Dublin, ensuring they meet all statutory requirements and uphold the highest standards of quality.

Requirements:

-A qualified construction-related degree

-6+ years' experience

-Ability to work with a wide array of project stakeholders both internal and external, in a fast-paced project delivery environment with an ability to influence the decision-making process

-Strong experience in large residential/commercial projects preferred

-Possess excellent communication skills

-Have excellent technical knowledge of building construction

-Have good technical design skills

-Full knowledge of Irish Building Regulations

-Previous experience working in teams and on multiple projects simultaneously
