Executive Legal Counsel – Semi-State Job Overview
This esteemed role entails providing authoritative legal counsel to a prominent organization in Dublin. As part of the Governance and Procurement Department within the Corporate Services Directorate, the successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Legal Counsel.
Main Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Senior Legal Counsel with managing complex legal caseloads for the EPBD project and BER scheme.
* Leading data exchange requirements within the Technical Department and coordinating with external legal experts.
* Offering comprehensive legal, data protection, and regulatory advice on the EPBD implementation.
* Providing expert guidance on data protection matters, including impact assessments and privacy notices.
* Conducting meticulous legal research and analyzing legislation at national and European levels.
* Rendering legal advice on organizational functions related to the EPBD and overall organization.
* Identifying legal and commercial risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
Requirements:
* Possession of a Bar admission or solicitor qualifications in Ireland.
* Minimum 4 years' relevant post-qualification experience.
* Detailed knowledge of GDPR and privacy law.
* Experience in advising on administrative, public, regulatory, or corporate law.
* Able to interpret complex legislation.
* Experience managing diverse caseloads and meeting deadlines.
* Exceptional report writing and communication skills.
* Understanding of public service governance and Irish/European legislation.
* A proactive approach to results, scope, time, risk, and quality management.
