We are looking for a Quality Control Technician for a one-year fixed-term shift position at our SMARTPLY OSB facility in Belview, via Waterford.
ROLE:
* Undertake, record and report on factory production control quality assurance checks for incoming raw materials to finished product.
* Monitor production processes to ensure they adhere to quality standards and provide feedback to production teams.
* Work closely with production teams, process engineers, and supervisors to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
* Conducting product testing, inputting data into the database, and analysing quality results to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
* Support R&D and innovation projects, Plan, Test and Report.
* Support cross-functional teams across departments driving performance excellence, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Document any noncompliance and ensure that recorded compliance issues are resolved and corrected.
* Assist with technical administration functions via Q-Pulse as required
* Ensure 6S is applied to all work areas and equipment.
* Support environmental department with the monitoring and testing of water samples across the site.
* Improve product guidelines / documentation and standard work procedures
* Assist external testing requirements for new products.
* Ensure testing, measuring and monitoring equipment is regularly calibrated and maintained as per Smartply calibration schedule.
* Conduct Internal IMS audits as part of Smartply auditing schedule.
* Promote a culture of Quality within MEDITE SMARTPLY.
* Deliver Quality related training to process departments as required.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE:
* Third level qualification in a relevant science or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
* A strong track record of team working in quality control is essential.
* Excellent communication, organisational & interpersonal skills required.
* Self-motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to work on one's own initiative.
* Demonstrate excellent IT skills.
* Creativity, Flexibility, analytical thinking and attention to detail.
* Must be willing to work a rotational schedule including day and evening shifts.
* Must be willing and able to work at our MEDITE MDF facility as required, with flexibility to travel between sites.
