Job Title: Product Development Technician I
The Product Development Technician I provides technical support to engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Develops and recommends procedures and methods, and prepares technical reports and documentation. Performs technical evaluations of events to determine root cause and recommends corrective actions.
Job duties and responsibilities:
1. Design and develop delivery systems for client companies.
2. Assemble, test, and package complex mechanical devices following written and verbal instructions.
3. Collaborate with engineers to design and develop assembly methods.
4. Maintain accurate work records such as engineering notebooks and routers.
5. Train assemblers, technicians, and engineers in assembly methods.
6. Maintain accurate inventory records.
7. Assist with in-process testing to ensure products meet specifications.
8. Operate computer, laboratory, and manufacturing equipment to test and develop prototype products.
9. Keep work areas clean and organized according to procedures.
10. Assist in maintaining product traceability.
11. Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
12. Follow all company rules, policies, safety, quality, and ISO requirements.
13. Implement good working practices and procedures.
14. Ensure all products are built to the highest quality standards.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Technical Diploma (advantageous)
* Experience with braiding and lamination (desirable)
* Experience in balloon catheter development or manufacturing (desirable)
Skills and Abilities:
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Professional interaction with client companies.
* Willingness to work in controlled and cleanroom environments.
* Ability to understand and follow mechanical assembly drawings and written instructions.
* Ability to operate equipment such as braiders, laminators, and spot welders (training provided).
* Ability to work independently with attention to detail and sound judgment.
* Motivated team player willing to learn and adapt.
