Due to continued growth and expansion, our client, a growing SME business which is part of a larger group, is seeking to hire a Financial Controller to join their team.Our client is an established company with steady growth in recent years.ABOUT THE ROLE:This role will lead the finance function of the business and offers collaboration, autonomy, and career progression. The role will report directly to the Managing Director with a dotted line to the Group CFO.Key responsibilities include:Lead the Finance function of the business and be responsible for providing “value adding” FP&A to support medium to long-term planning.Responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling financial-related activities of the company, including accounting, finance, forecasting, costings, and pricing.Oversee the finance and accounting function across all areas with primary responsibility for cash forecasting and balance sheet reviews.Develop and drive profitability on a key set of financial KPI’s.Assess risks and opportunities, contributing towards the overall growth of the business.Lead a small Finance/Accounts team to ensure that they are highly engaged and have the skill sets, resources, and support needed to deliver in their role and achieve their objectives.Manage working capital ensuring that liquidity is maintained and optimised.Manage and forecast annual budgets and rolling forecasts.Analyse business trends and historical performance, working with cross-functional teams across the organisation to map out future strategic objectives.Responsible for the management of various IT projects.Ensure Financial Systems are as effective as possible to deliver the required information to the business.Lead and support the development of processes and procedures.Communicate clearly key insights and analysis on financial and business performance using meaningful reports, highlighting key trends and customized dashboards.ABOUT THE PERSON:Qualified Accountant with 5 years plus PQE in a financial role.Experience managing and leading a team.Proven ability to build successful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Personable with exceptional interpersonal skills.Commercially minded with a strong operational focus.This role offers hybrid working - 3 days per week in the office.
