Commis Chef
The 4 star Cavan Crystal Hotel is currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant/ Commis Chef to join the team.
The ideal candidate will be a self starter, eager to learn and have the ability to work under pressure.

Main duties and responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, peeling, and marinating.
Follow recipes and guidelines provided by senior chefs for accurate and consistent food preparation.
Assist in cooking dishes under the guidance of more experienced chefs.
Operate kitchen equipment and machinery following safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of kitchen waste.
Ensure a tidy and sanitary work environment in accordance with food safety regulations.
Assist in monitoring and managing kitchen inventory, including stock rotation and restocking supplies.
Report any shortages or discrepancies to senior chefs.
Follow established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency.
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Support the kitchen team during busy service periods, including preparation and plating of dishes.
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service.
Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks.
Requirements
Previous experience as a kitchen assistant/commis chef and/or suitable qualification.
Knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
Have a passion and genuine interest in food.
Be eager to learn and have an imitative.
Flexibility in working hours as role includes mornings/evenings & weekends, public holidays.
Good command of the English language.
