Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Officer Role

The embedding of EDI principles across all activities is a key focus of the Institute's strategic plan 2024-2028. We are seeking an EDI Officer to lead on EDI initiatives, oversee Athena Swan action plans, and coordinate future Athena Swan applications.

Key Responsibilities:
">
* Work closely with Management and the EDI Committee to drive strategic change in areas of EDI for staff and students.
">
* Monitor and report on action plans for gender equality and race equality, supporting other protected grounds.
">
* Take ownership of work undertaken as part of institutional Athena Swan certification under expanded Athena Swan Ireland Charter, incorporating intersectionality.
">
Key Skills and Qualifications:
">
* Develop and continuously review EDI related policies with cross-Institute teams.
">
* Provide advice and guidance on equality and diversity matters, referencing legislation and national/sectoral policy.
">
* Foster a positive EDI culture at the Institute.
">
* Provide progress reports on EDI initiatives to the Equality Committee, Executive Team, and other Institute bodies.
">
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop initiatives, events, and programmes furthering EDI across the Institute.
">
* Act as secretary to the EDI Committee.
">
* Organise and promote training embracing the Athena SWAN Action Plan, Institute objectives, and sectoral initiatives.
">
* Play a key role in organising Institute-wide events, such as Diversity Week, International Women's Day, etc.
">
* Engage and collaborate with relevant external bodies, representing the Institute at national events.
