Senior Water Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Water Engineer to oversee the management and maintenance of our waterways infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing resources, including financial, operational staff, and waterway assets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day operations of regional depots at Portora and Drumboory
* Engage with Operations Stores to support procurement and purchasing of goods and services
* Coordinate with user groups for event facilitation
* Work in partnership with third parties and local interests to manage and develop waterways for increased recreational use
* Participate in a Response Team and provide out-of-office service on a rota basis
Requirements:
* Possess a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent qualification
* Have minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in design or construction of civil/structural engineering projects, with at least 2 years in an operational environment
* Hold a current driving license and have access to transport for travel throughout Ireland
* Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
* Be computer literate and competent in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and IT-based surveying equipment/engineering design tools
* Demonstrate experience of developing technical specifications, conditions of contract, tender documentation, procurement, and framework contracts
* Have experience of working in a maintenance environment and holding a health and safety qualification
* Be a chartered member of a relevant Engineering Institution
* Understand environmental issues involved in waterway development
* Demonstrate experience of working with Trade Unions
