Staff Level AWS Engineer/Architect – Dublin South Remote/Hybrid
Our client is a world-renowned leader in the area of medical devices and is currently expanding the Irish team and has engaged IT Search to speak to a Senior Staff/Principal Engineer to help design and execute highly scalable and secure systems, working closely with counterparts in the USA.
This will suit a very senior Engineer comfortable working across teams, leading delivery of architectures and significant knowledge within AWS and Serverless Computing who is looking for a new challenge and is eager to take on this key role in the years to come.
Role Responsibilities
* Liaise closely with international colleagues to adapt, architect and deliver Serverless solutions
* Understand impact of processes across various departments, DevOps, Development, Product and Senior Management
* Communicate ongoing objectives to board level, working within and shaping global distributed architectural strategies
* Take responsibility for teams of engineers, mentoring and guiding to bring teams on this journey
Requirements
* 10/15 years of post‑grad commercial experience the majority of which should be within Development/DevOps/Architecture
* Significant strength and experience of leading AWS related strategy
* Serverless experience a must, with cloud native environments being your natural home, Microservices and Lambda, NoSQL and related experience a plus
* Track record of leadership of technical teams, defining expectations and architecture within a large organisation while remaining hands on
* Development ability is key on an ongoing basis, ideally with Python
* Observability, pipeline knowledge, IaC all should be a given for this role
* Exceptional communication skills and passion for your work
This is a senior position, attracting a significant salary and package, will require occasional liaison outside of local working hours (with USA), onsite visits to the Dublin South will be required at least on a weekly basis (likely two/three days initially).
