We are pleased to be working with a large, well known public sector organisation in their search for a Finance Business Partner. Acting as a strategic advisor to a portfolio of departments, the post-holder will deliver professional financial management services, supporting planning, performance, and decision-making aligned with organisational strategy. They will provide timely, business-critical reporting, promote accountability in non-financial units, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The Role Financial Planning & Reporting: Prepare accurate annual budgets, in-year financial estimates, and monthly management reports, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and operational trends. Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Track and report on KPIs, analyse variances, identify risks and opportunities, and support the development of improvement plans. Decision Support & Insight: Provide timely financial analysis, input into business cases, and ad hoc reporting to aid strategic and operational decision-making Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with senior leaders, act as a trusted advisor, and support non-finance stakeholders in understanding financial information. Systems & Process Improvement: Contribute to the development of financial systems, enhance reporting capabilities, and share best practices across the finance network. Governance & Compliance: Ensure regulatory compliance, manage funding limitations, and represent Finance on committees and with external partners. Team Leadership: Line manage and support team members, allocate workload effectively, and foster professional development through feedback and guidance. The Person As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience: Essential: A professional accountancy qualification. Significant post-qualified experience in an accounting/finance environment, working within a large and complex organization. Significant experience in monthly/quarterly management reporting, budgeting and forecasting. Experience of advising and influencing senior stakeholders to drive strategic decision-making. Desirable: Experience of managing other staff. Experience in use and design of reports within Power BI. What's in it for you?: Salary: £50-60k pro rata per annum. 37 days annual leave.
