Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the store's fresh food departments operate efficiently and effectively, providing our customers with the best customer service and fresh food offerings at all times.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- 2 years' experience in a Fresh Food Department (desirable)
- 1 year's experience in a Supervisor/Manager role (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills
- Good delegation skills
- Understanding of how to achieve KPIs and targets
- Passion for fresh food
Main duties:

- Oversee and ensure the smooth operation of the fresh departments by prioritising and delegating workload appropriately
- Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets related to gross profit margin, net margin, waste, and other KPIs as agreed with the Store Manager
- Manage stocktaking and control overheads according to the fresh budget
- Foster good working relationships within the team
- Conduct regular fresh food meetings and communicate relevant details and results to the team
- Manage employee performance through regular feedback, recognition, and encouragement
- Handle customer queries professionally and efficiently, in line with store policy
- Manage employee rostering and annual leave for the fresh departments
- Ensure high standards of merchandising and presentation of the fresh department, in accordance with store planograms and guidelines.
