Operations Support Engineer
This role is within the Transport Technology directorate, working closely with the Transport management system (TMS) team and Integrated Ticketing System (ITS) team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Coordinating system installations and/or upgrades at NTA and customer sites
* Collaborating with suppliers and operators to resolve technical issues
* Addressing service-related issues at operator sites, including troubleshooting minor software problems, firmware upgrades, hardware troubleshooting, and providing training to customers and new operations personnel
* Developing and updating documentation to standardise operational support interfaces between service providers, transport operators, and the NTA
* Managing incident faults relating to vehicle equipment and relevant NTA back office systems through a managed service desk
* Supporting ongoing and new project initiatives implemented by the NTA and Transport Technology directorate
This is a hands-on support role requiring frequent off-site visits to Service Providers and end-users premises. Travel in and around Ireland is expected, mainly focused on the greater Dublin metropolitan area.
Full training will be provided in supporting equipment such as on-bus ticketing, vehicle location systems, and real-time systems.
Desired Qualifications and Training
* More than three years of experience within similar technical service environments
* National Craft Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Automotive
* Ability to understand and troubleshoot complex technical issues
* Fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
* Systems analysis and design experience
* Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
