Job Title: Export Compliance & Sanctions Advisor
Location: Remote (U.S.-based, EST)
Job Type: Temporary (Full-time, 40 hours/week)
Start Date: June 2, 2025 - October 10, 2025 (This is a temporary W-2 contract assignment to cover an FTE on FMLA)
Pay Range: $34.11 per hour, paid biweekly
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Export Compliance & Sanctions Advisor to support global trade operations and ensure adherence to U.S. and international export control and sanctions regulations. This role is fully remote, with flexibility to start between 8–9 AM EST and end between 5–7 PM EST. You would be working for a large healthcare and pharmaceutical services organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure regional trade operations are in compliance with applicable export regulations
2. Accountable for adoption and uptake of company global standards and policies
3. Regional point of contact regarding export controls and trade sanctions questions/issues
4. Support day-to-day operations related to compliance with export controls & sanctions regulations
5. Perform Denied Party screening (e.g., vendors, distributors)
6. Perform export licensing determinations & submit license applications (as required)
7. Coordinate the receipt of 3rd party export compliance certifications
8. Review and approve tenders, letters of credit, and other transactional documents
9. Assess new lanes/vendors/products from an export compliance perspective
10. Support export classifications (ECCN determination for company portfolio, 3rd party products, non-standard products)
11. Monitor regulatory developments & enforcement trends in export controls & sanctions
12. Collaborate with the Global Trade Audit team to conduct export compliance assessments
13. Coordinate with Commercial, Finance, Customer Service, and external service providers on export compliance matters

* Develop technical solutions for difficult problems; solutions should be innovative and aligned with organizational objectives
* Work independently with general guidance on new projects
* Work reviewed to ensure objectives are met
* Mentor less experienced colleagues (if applicable)
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in export control and sanctions compliance within a law firm, consultancy, or multinational company
* Advanced knowledge of U.S. and international export regulations
* Strong compliance mindset and attention to detail
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
* Certification in export compliance (e.g., ECoP EAR, CUSECO, or equivalent)
