Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Site Engineer located in Newport, County Mayo as part of the N59 Realignment Scheme.
The Site Engineer will be responsible for on-site tasks related to quality control, communication, setting out, and collaborating with civil engineers.
Day-to-Day
Ability to plan, schedule, and manage operations effectively.
Developing effective relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Involvement in earthworks, drainage, utilities and structures works.
Ensuring precise setting out and dimensional control to maintain accuracy in construction.
Regular checks on setting out points, benchmarks, and calibration of measuring instruments and equipment.
Influencing progress on-site and ensuring programme deadlines are met.
Maintaining the Integrated Management System (IMS), policies, and procedures.
Collaborating closely with team members to ensure Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety standards are adhered to.
Completing daily reports, diary entries, and photographic documentation as required.
Accurate quantification of materials and responsibility for ordering materials.
Undertaking any other duties as reasonably required.
Experience and Qualifications
A relevant degree in Civil Engineer (or equivalent) and 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
Experience working within roadworks.
Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and construction techniques.
Proficiency in using AutoCAD, GPS Systems, Total Station for site engineering tasks.
Experience using Trimble Business Centre or Earthworks an advantage.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Project, PowerPoint, etc
Possession of a valid full driving licence.
High level of integrity, always ensuring work is completed to the highest standards.
Ability to motivate teams to meet key targets, ensuring quality, safety, and environmental standards are adhered to.
Possession of a relevant safepass/CSCS card.
