This role is based in Cork, acting as a key technical leader and escalation point for large-scale, mission-critical network services and regional buildouts, including hands-on engagement and travel to Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in modern data center networking (leaf-spine fabrics, routing, segmentation, load balancing, automation) and strong operational rigor.
Travel: International travel required — including Saudi Arabia (willingness and no travel restrictions required).
Note: This role requires 5 days per week onsite in our Cork office.
Key Responsibilities

Data Centre Network Architecture & Engineering: Architect, design, and implement leaf-spine data center networks and related services to support large-scale compute, storage, and engineering environments.
Own L2/L3 network design and operation across critical protocols/technologies such as BGP, STP, QoS, MLAG/vPC/CLAG, EVPN, VXLAN.
Drive network lifecycle management: scaling, upgrades, capacity planning, refreshes, and risk-managed change execution.

Application Delivery / Load Balancing (where applicable)

Design and support application delivery / load balancing architectures including local and global (GSLB), with strong understanding of PKI/SSL, SSL offload, DNS impacts to application delivery.

AI / GPU Networking (Preferred Focus Area)

Contribute to network designs that enable AI/ML training and inference at scale, emphasizing high bandwidth and low latency connectivity for GPU clusters.
Apply knowledge of AI/GPU networking concepts and technologies such as RDMA, RoCE, and high-speed Ethernet (e.g., 400G/800G roadmaps), and how network bottlenecks impact distributed training/inference performance.
Partner with infrastructure teams to validate and improve architectures supporting multi-node GPU workloads and scalable cluster growth.

Automation, Observability & Operational Excellence

Improve reliability and operational efficiency through automation/orchestration and network-as-code practices (e.g., pipelines, configuration standards, and repeatable deployments).
Lead complex troubleshooting (individual, group, vendor-assisted) and deliver durable root-cause fixes, with strong TCP/IP operations expertise.

Regional / International Support (Saudi Arabia Travel)

Provide on-site support when needed for deployments, cutovers, audits, and operational readiness activities in Saudi Arabia, collaborating with regional stakeholders and global teams.
Act as a senior escalation point across time zones; coordinate with vendors/partners as needed.
