We're looking for a driven Quality Control Manager with a strong technical background and proven leadership experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring the highest standards of food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance across our fast-paced operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the Quality Control team, fostering high performance and continuous improvement.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with BRC Global Standards, retailer specifications, and food safety legislation.
* Manage site audits—both internal and external—including visits from retailers, EHOs, and certification bodies.
* Oversee food safety for Ready-To-Eat (RTE) product lines, with a strong emphasis on microbiological controls.
* Serve as the primary liaison for quality and technical matters with key retail partners such as Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, and Musgrave.
* Collaborate closely with Production and Technical departments to align quality with operational efficiency.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, problem-solving efforts, and adherence to critical timelines.
* Travel within the UK or EU may be required for audits, meetings, or retailer engagement.
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience in high-care or high-risk food production environments.
* In-depth knowledge of BRC standards and food safety systems.
* Experience working with auditors, EHOs, and technical teams from leading retail chains.
* Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience managing and motivating sizable teams.
* Excellent written and spoken English.
* Strong collaboration skills with a solution-focused mindset.
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with Tesco TFS, TQC, Inspectario, and Foods Connected platforms.
* Familiarity with retailer standards from Aldi, Lidl, Musgrave, and Dunnes Stores.
* Background in chilled convenience food or fresh produce manufacturing.
