Civil Project Manager – Longford

Job Overview
An Irish contractor is seeking a Civil Project Manager to join their team on a project in the Longford/Leitrim area.
Job Summary
Take full ownership of project delivery, from mobilisation through to handover.
Lead the planning, programming, and execution of retaining wall construction and associated civils works.
Manage health & safety compliance in line with company procedures and statutory obligations, ensuring a positive safety culture.
Oversee quality assurance, implementing inspection and test plans, ensuring workmanship meets high standards.
Co-ordinate design management and technical submittals, resolving design issues in collaboration with consultants and statutory bodies.
Produce and monitor construction programmes using appropriate planning tools.
Prepare and present regular progress, quality, safety, and financial reports to stakeholders.
Manage procurement of subcontractors, materials, and services, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, local authorities, and the community.
Lead, mentor, and develop project teams, setting clear objectives and ensuring effective communication.
Anticipate risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep works on track.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of a Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a similar role in the construction industry.
Civil Engineering experience essential.
Ability to engage with the customer as well as suppliers and sub-contractors in financial negotiations and final account agreements.
Excellent knowledge of the latest building regulations.
Good working knowledge of programme management software such as Microsoft Project.
Excellent attention to detail & keen eye for detail.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
