Our client a leader in electronic assmebly manufacturing are seeking a warehouse operative to join their Galway Team.
4 day week | Day Shift | 6 month contract, permanent thereafter
Role Overview
The Warehouse Operative supports colleagues across MSA Galway in maintaining a positive, safe, and efficient work environment while delivering excellence to customers.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Training
1. Take ownership of personal and team safety within the warehouse.
2. Complete all required training (., warehouse machinery, manual handling).
3. Participate in plant-wide initiatives including 6S, recycling, and internal audits.
Warehouse Operations
4. Receive all materials from external vendors in compliance with internal procedures.
5. Issue raw materials to the production floor daily in a timely manner.
6. Ensure all material movements are accurately recorded in SAP and other inventory systems.
7. Conduct daily cycle counts across all warehouse and manufacturing areas and investigate any discrepancies.
8. Prepare and verify all Finished Goods orders for transfer to Shipping.
9. Support production cells by promptly responding to material requirements.
Communication & Collaboration
10. Participate in daily team huddles, providing updates on safety, inventory, and improvement opportunities.
11. Communicate part shortages or issues to the Planning/Purchasing teams as they arise.
12. Support Continuous Improvement (CPI) initiatives across the plant.
Performance & Process Improvement
13. Meet deadlines and support ongoing performance improvements.
14. Actively contribute ideas for process enhancement and workflow improvements.
Education & Experience Requirements
15. Leaving Certificate required (3rd level education an advantage).
16. Experience in a warehousing or manufacturing leadership role preferred.
17. Strong coordination, planning, and communication skills.
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
19. Highly motivated self-starter with a hands-on approach.
20. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
21. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Desirable Skills
22. Experience operating warehouse machinery.
23. Manual handling training or awareness.
24. Working knowledge of SAP.
