Description
Here at Enva, a qualified Accountant is needed to join our expanding finance team in Portlaoise. Hybrid working arrangements are available but must be flexible to suit business needs.
We seek an ambitious, energetic professional with a positive attitude, flexible with excellent communication and IT skills.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
Supervise payroll processing team to ensure compliance with all revenue obligations.
Act as main point of contact for pension and risk renewal providers to meet obligations timely.
Own detailed monthly payroll analysis file and liaise with directors to ensure correct division coding.
Post monthly payroll journal.
Recalculate holiday accruals periodically.
Review BIK calculations, overtime and health insurance deductions regularly.
Streamline payroll process and automate where possible.
Keep up to date with all relevant legislation.
Maintain internal controls with regular internal checks.
Prepare annual payroll budget to tight deadlines.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with all Revenue and other obligations.
Prepare and submit bi-monthly VAT return and annual RTD return.
Prepare and submit monthly VIES and Intrastat returns.
Prepare and submit monthly RCT return.
Prepare and submit annual 46G return.
Compile and return info for any CSO obligations throughout the year.
Be point of contact for VAT or RCT queries from operations team.
Co‑ordinate year‑end external audit and corporation tax requirement and be main point of contact for external auditors and corporation tax advisors.
Co‑ordinate any internal audits as required.
Compile relevant information for annual insurance renewal.
Ensure all internal controls are maintained/improved across tax heads, implement additional controls and reporting dashboards.
If acquisitions occur, ensure from date of acquisition all tax heads comply with revenue obligation.
Banking
Weekly cashflow forecasting.
Daily cash management and first approval of all banking BACS and EFT transactions.
Keep credit card records up to date.
Complete bank reconciliations monthly.
Liaise with banks when necessary.
Other
Support FP&A team and month‑end where necessary.
Month‑end balance sheet reconciliations to tight deadlines.
Assist with ERP implementation project as required.
Help drive improvements in working capital.
Assist with preparation of annual balance sheet budget.
Provide training and support to junior members of the team and play an active role in their development.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualified Accountant and member of a registered accountancy body (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA) with minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience.
Previous experience in payroll essential with strong technical knowledge of PAYE, PRSI revenue compliance, BIK and ROS reporting.
Strong technical knowledge of VAT, RCT, Corporation tax rules required.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP experience an advantage.
Excellent computer literacy with strong working knowledge of Excel, Jet Reporting, Powerpoint, Sharepoint.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent numeric and organisational skills.
Methodical problem‑solving with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to meet strict deadlines in a timely and efficient manner.
