FM104is the leading local commercial broadcaster in Dublin. FM104 was the first local commercial station launched in Ireland and has held an enviable position at the top of the market for many years as Dublin's Hit Music station. Designed for 15-34 year old Dubliners FM104 is the soundtrack to their young, urban lifestyle. Q102 serves the city's 35-55 year olds with a custom music choice carefully blending the best of today's adult releases with the biggest hits of past decades. Q102 is Dublin's 'feelgood choice'.

News & Sports Broadcast Journalist – FM104 & Q102

Your Role:

In this role, you will write, produce, present and report on news stories for FM104 and Q102's hourly radio bulletins and online platforms.

Day to day, you will:

* Collate and deliver bulletins and updates across both stations
* Pitch and provide original content for multi-platform outlets, including on-air, programming, online and social media
* Undertake on-the-ground reporting in the Dublin area
* Respond to breaking news as it happens
* Conduct background research and verify information
* Contribute to our news and current affairs programme and weekly sports show when required
* Liaise with other members of the production and technical teams
* Ensure all content complies with Coimisiún na Meán (CnaM) guidelines
* Work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays

What we're looking for from you:

* An energetic journalist with flair and imagination to craft relevant, engaging news content for our audience
* The ability to write accurate, clear and creative news copy
* Strong copywriting and standout storytelling skills
* Excellent knowledge of news gathering, social media and digital content systems
* Calmness and professionalism in a live newsroom environment, with the ability to handle a fast-changing news agenda and tight deadlines
* Excellent written and spoken English
* Familiarity with newsroom playout and audio editing systems
* Excellent knowledge of defamation law and CnaM codes
* Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
* A strong contact base and reliable sources
* Good knowledge of local Dublin sport (desirable)
* Willingness to engage with mobile and video journalism
* A full, clean driver's licence
