The Opportunity
Join the Technical Department of a leading national energy authority dedicated to Ireland's energy revolution. As the
BER Framework Coordinator
, you will play a central role in optimising the Building Energy Rating (BER) framework. This position is vital for meeting Ireland's obligations under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), ensuring that building energy performance is calculated, recorded, and optimised through cutting-edge methodology and software.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
* Manage and lead projects across multiple business functions to deliver a seamless and optimised BER framework.
* Partner with technical teams to develop and refine building energy performance calculation methodologies.
* Work closely with software development teams to integrate these methodologies into national platforms, such as DEAP and NEAP.
* Collaborate with BER Operations to manage stakeholders, including assessors and auditors to ensure the framework is functional and efficient.
* Develop operational management dashboards using Microsoft Power BI to monitor and improve framework performance.
* Lead research and analysis projects to inform the design of Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for the EPBD recast.
Essential Requirements
* Minimum Level 7 (NFQ) degree in a relevant field such as Architecture, Engineering (Mechanical/Civil), Building Services, Environmental Science, or Economics.
* At least 4 years of directly relevant experience in building performance assessment, energy modelling or sustainability consultancy.
* Working knowledge of building energy performance methodologies, specifically DEAP and NEAP.
* Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and diverse internal/external stakeholders.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization in public forums.
Nice to Have
* Experience in software quality control, stakeholder management, or user acceptance testing.
* Current BER Assessor certification.
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
* A strong understanding of building energy systems and a history of delivering positive customer experiences.
