Overview
We're looking for a talented and adaptable Accountant to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this hybrid role will give you the opportunity to oversee the General Ledger (GL) and Trial Balance for entities, ensuring smooth monthly reporting to our US headquarters in line with the agreed close cycle. You'll work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure the timely preparation and filing of statutory accounts and tax returns. This role will also involve assisting with local accounting and reporting across our EMEA, LATAM, and APJ entities, which are all part of the Group. With a focus on collaboration, you'll work across various global functions to ensure reporting is timely and of the highest quality.
Responsibilities
* Oversee monthly reporting for assigned entities in both US GAAP and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with all local regulations (including accounts and direct/indirect tax returns).
* Manage the transition and preparation of statutory accounts from US GAAP to local GAAP for your assigned entities.
* Conduct analytical reviews of monthly and quarterly data, responding to queries from local reporting managers and head office following monthly reviews.
* Collaborate with global teams to support the monthly close process and maintain ongoing compliance.
* Exercise oversight of complex intercompany transactions and monitor intercompany activities and relationships.
* Work closely with business leaders to provide insights into financial results, address anomalies, and advise on corrective actions.
* Actively participate in corporate initiatives, including efforts to centralize accounting processes across the EMEA & APJ regions, building strong working relationships with both existing and new staff .
* Perform monthly account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Assist with VAT and other direct tax return compliance for your assigned entities.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with corporate policies and internal controls.
* Coordinate with internal and external auditors to manage audit processes and local tax reporting.
* Contribute to ad hoc projects, such as acquisition accounting, entity incorporations, system setups, etc.
Qualifications
* ACCA, ACA, CPA, or CIMA part or full qualification is preferred .
* Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience bridging US GAAP to local statutory accounting standards.
* Experience with monthly reporting in a multinational, multi-currency company, with a proven ability to continuously improve processes and systems for greater efficiency. Previous experience in software or high-tech companies would be highly beneficial.
* Proficiency with Oracle Financials or similar systems, along with excellent Excel skills.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with both internal and external business partners effectively.
* Self-motivated and comfortable working independently, while also being an integral part of a collaborative team.
* Flexibility to adjust working hours during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end periods.
* Knowledge of both local GAAP and US GAAP accounting is an advantage.
