Product Engineer required for a leading Electronics manufacturing company, reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
* Support Lean NPI (new product introduction) working closely with Design & Manufacturing Engineering to ensure products are designed, manufactured, and delivered according to DFT, DFC (Design For Manufacture, Test, Compliance) guidelines.
* Manage configuration and change control through the EO (Engineering Order) process from initial design to product obsolescence.
* Assist the design team in developing hardware/software project requirements, supporting DVT (Design Verification Testing), product costing, reliability testing (ESS, Environmental Stress Screen, generation), and design reviews.
* Address material issues related to sourcing, selecting alternative components, MRB (Materials Review Board) disposition, Non-Conformance/Waiver generation, E&O (Excess & Obsolescence).
* Take technical ownership of the product after design release, including customer-driven product changes.
* Serve as the primary manufacturing technical contact for the product range.
* Continuously seek product cost reduction through Lean tools, waste elimination, product improvements, and process enhancements.
* Lead EOL (End Of Life) customer requests.
* Identify opportunities to improve product yields and reliability by analyzing issues and leading solutions.
* Support after-market programs, addressing customer needs such as training, obsolescence management, repair support, logistics, and documentation.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the wider team to resolve field application challenges related to product integration, working with customers and various sites within the organization.
Experience:
A Degree in Electronic/Electrical or related engineering discipline and at least 2 years of manufacturing engineering experience in an electronics assembly environment.
Good understanding of electronic circuit functionality is required, with experience in areas such as product engineering, quality engineering, electronic/electrical design, software development, mechanical engineering, test engineering, and lean principles being advantageous.
