The role focuses on front-end Power BI development, triaging and resolving BAU issues, implementing targeted enhancements, and preparing high-quality data models and visuals. It also involves contributing to DevOps processes, documenting best practice, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, and ensuring reliable testing and solution quality. A key aspect of the role is providing essential operational support to Senior BI Developers - enabling them to focus on strategic and complex projects - while helping the wider BI team reduce backlog, improve cycle times, and enhance stakeholder satisfaction.How You Will ContributeYour Role in Carbery's SuccessAt Carbery Group we continue to leverage data to aid decision making across our global operations. This role will ensure that solutions to incidents and requests are identified and implemented quickly, ensuring continuity and ongoing improvement of our BI solutions. This will strengthen our Business Intelligence capacity - reducing backlog, shortening cycle times and improving stakeholder satisfaction, by delivering quality front end solutions and targeted fixes.The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our BI solutions, working collaboratively with Senior BI Developers to ensure operational excellence. By managing day-to-day requests and supporting ongoing improvements, you'll help the team deliver high-impact analytics while enabling senior colleagues to focus on strategic priorities.You will design, develop and maintain BI assets, and triage BAU issues and enhancement requests across Sales, Operations, Finance and Innovation initially, with support expanding to QA, QC, Purchasing, Customer Service, R&D, etc. Strong self-sufficiency with Power BI is essential, while progressively building capability across MS Fabric Stack: Lakehouses, Warehouses, Notebooks, Pipelines, Models, etc.You will work closely with our experienced BI team, collaborating on projects and sharing best practice. The role offers excellent opportunities for learning and professional growth, with excellent support & guidance from Senior Developers and access to ongoing training in new technologies and methodologies.This support role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our BI function, enabling Senior BI Developers to focus on strategic initiatives and complex solutions by efficiently managing day-to-day BI requests and enhancements.How You Will Contribute:Proactively support Senior BI Developers by taking ownership of BAU tasks, troubleshooting, and implementing targeted fixes, thereby contributing to the overall effectiveness and agility of the BI team. Front end delivery and triage: diagnose, prioritise and resolve Power BI issues, dashboard improvements and enhancements within defined SLAs.Build compelling visuals - leverage Power BI, DAX and Power Query to create intuitive, performant reports and data models that support end-to-end processes, all in alignment with best practices and defined standards.Model and optimise - design clean semantic models and apply best practices for calculation groups, row-level security and performance tuning.Data preparation - write and maintain SQL for curated datasets. Assist senior developers by preparing source data, building and optimising queries, validating data quality, and supporting the development of new data models and reporting solutions.Quality and UAT - define test cases, validate fixes, and document outcomes to ensure reliability and repeatability.DevOps and version control - use Git-based workflows for BI assets, follow branching conventions and contribute to automated deployment routines.Stakeholder engagement - collaborate with business owners to clarify requirements, capture acceptance criteria and communicate progress transparently.Knowledge sharing - document common issues, playbooks and FAQs so the wider IT team can support first-line BI requests.Ways of working - contribute to agile sprint sessions, keep tickets up to date and help refine backlog items into deliverable tasks in a timely manner.Continuous improvement - monitor report usage, instrument performance metrics and recommend iterative enhancements to improve user experience.Essential requirements:BSc. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.3-5 years' experience delivering Power BI solutions - strong DAX, Power Query, data modelling and UX design.Understanding of dimensional modelling and DWH concepts.Can maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency across report design, calculations, definitions and visuals to ensure dependable decision making.Clear communicator - able to translate technical details for non-technical stakeholders and capture actionable requirements.Proactive and organised - capable of triage, prioritisation and delivering in a fast-changing environment.Desirable Requirements:Curiosity and commitment to learn Azure DWH, Microsoft Fabric, and modern DevOps practices for BI.Working knowledge and experience of SQL Server – joins, window functions and stored procedures for analytics datasets.Experience Required:3-5 years of hands-on Power BI experience, strong DAX and data modelling skills, solid SQL capability, and a proven ability to troubleshoot, enhance and deliver BI solutions in a fast-paced, multi-functional environmentOur Commitment to our PeopleWe are a diverse and growing workforce of over 1,000 people across eight countries globally.
