Our hospital provides a wide range of neuropsychiatric services for adults with serious and enduring mental health conditions, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, early‑onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. We are proud to be the only facility in Ireland offering specialised care for individuals living with Huntington’s disease.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform general maintenance duties on a basic level such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and/or decorating.
* Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to deliver day‑to‑day maintenance and installations across the hospital and residential areas.
* Conduct routine preventative maintenance and maintain accurate service records.
* Maintain high standards of decoration and general building appearance.
* Prioritise tasks from the maintenance log in consultation with departmental managers.
* Carry out regular safety inspections, including checks on emergency lighting, fire alarms, and firefighting equipment.
* Identify and troubleshoot maintenance issues, coordinating prompt repair to minimise service disruption.
* Liaise with on‑site tradespeople and external contractors as needed.
* Promote and uphold a safe and well‑maintained environment across all facilities.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives led by the Head of Facilities Management.
Person Specification
Essential Experience:
* Proven experience in general maintenance, preferably within a healthcare or similar setting.
* Ability to work independently and manage varied maintenance challenges.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards and best practices.
Skills:
* A multi‑skilled technician who can turn his or her hand to most trade sets. For example, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and/or decorating experience.
* To have a technical mindset when it comes to problem solving, with a can‑do attitude.
* Needs to be able to work well as part of a team and individually.
Personal Attributes:
* Dependable, respectful, and proactive.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and demonstrate initiative.
* Team‑oriented with a resident‑first approach.
* Basic computer literacy.
