An exciting opportunity has become available with a well-established and highly reputable company based in Tullamore. We have a new exciting opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer. As part of their design engineering team based in Tullamore, you’ll be at the heart of where innovation meets production. You'll design the custom machines, jigs, and fixtures that power the assembly of high-end audio products used by people across the world. You will work at the intersection of mechanical design and innovation, collaborating with engineering teams across Ireland, Switzerland, and Germany, and seeing your concepts move from CAD to the production floor.Your main team is in Tullamore, but you'll sometimes connect with people in Switzerland and Germany, like the main R&D team.Responsibilities:Use 3D software (CAD) to create detailed designs for tools and machines.Design jigs and fixtures—special custom tools that hold parts in place during assembly or testing.Work closely with other engineers and team leads to make sure your designs fit into the full production process.Help combine mechanical parts with electrical components (like sensors or control systems) when needed.Support production teams by solving mechanical design problems.Create and maintain drawings, manuals, and documentation so others can build and use your designs.Make prototypes, help get quotes from suppliers, and make sure everything is properly tested before going into production.Requirements:A Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering (or similar 3rd level Degree).Strong experience in 3D design software (CAD)—preferably CREO, but SolidWorks or CATIA is a plus.3–5 years of experience in a similar role.Experience of assembly & integration of mechanical designs.Able to think ahead, solve problems, and adapt quickly to changes.Good communication skills—you'll work with different teams and nationalities.Bonus: Experience working with tools or machines in a workshop.For a more detailed job description & more information on this position contact Gillian Nicholson 0906450665gillian.nicholson@collinsmcnicholas.ie
