About the Role
The Nursing Site Manager (NSM) is responsible for the provision of quality nursing services at the Hermitage Clinic, ensuring safe and timely access to care 24 hours a day, overseeing staffing, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership and managerial support to nursing staff.
Ensure safe and effective operations of nursing services, delivering first‑class patient‑focused care.
Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to optimise bed capacity and patient flow.
Manage staffing, recruitment, induction, and performance development of nursing and support staff.
Maintain high standards of nursing care, comply with policies on fire prevention, waste management, risk management, and JCI standards.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives and provide recommendations to senior management.
Lead workforce planning and forecast skill/case mix to optimise workforce allocation.
Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Managers, Allied Health, and external stakeholders to improve service delivery.
Monitor patient journeys, staffing levels, and bed utilisation, providing reports on performance and recommendations.
Support patient flow management, discharge planning, and coordination of urgent and elective admissions.
Participate in quality improvement and risk management programmes, including independence audits and incident investigations.
Act as a change agent, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and evidence‑based practice.
Ensure compliance with organisational policies, national regulations, and professional standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Registered with the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an acute hospital setting.
Proven knowledge of design and delivery of comprehensive nursing services and continuous quality improvement.
Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including consultants, senior management, and external partners.
Demonstrated change management capability.
Current ACLS certification or willingness to obtain.
Desirable: health‑care management qualification at third level (NQAI Level 9).
