Overview

The Maintenance Technician works as part of the Maintenance team and is responsible for ensuring that all infrastructure systems perform predictably and continue to operate as required to support the manufacturing process. They ensure that all systems, GMP and non-GMP, conform to regulatory requirements as well as company specifications. The site is focused on continuous improvement of all work processes and practices and colleagues may be asked to carry out additional work functions that are directly associated with their role.


Responsibilities

* Maximise the availability of all equipment to ensure full operations schedule adherence and minimise response times to utility system issues that impact availability.
* Monitor day-to-day performance of systems; troubleshoot performance trends; anticipate, solve or escalate problems as appropriate.
* Perform maintenance and improvement work on all equipment to enable full operations schedule adherence.
* Support the Preventative Maintenance program by carrying out maintenance routines and repairs to prolong equipment life and optimise efficiency.
* Develop and implement equipment-specific maintenance strategies to improve reliability and performance in line with maintenance best practice.
* Support programs to optimise current Planned Maintenance procedures.
* Collaborate with the Engineering Systems Team Lead to develop a reliability-centered asset care strategy with core pillars including criticality, spares assessment, predictive maintenance, fit-for-purpose PM, RCA program and FMEA techniques.
* Maintain safety and regulatory equipment, report defects, and ensure accurate recording of work in the CMMS (e.g., Maximo) with durations and parts used.
* Liaise with site stores on procurement of spare and replacement parts and ensure adequate spare parts for critical systems.
* Provide maintenance coverage as required, including overtime or cross-shift work to cover holidays, sick leave, shutdowns, and busy periods.
* Maintain detailed technical files and equipment history logs; act as SME in equipment, instrument and system root cause investigations when required.
* Provide support to Operations, Validation, Engineering and Quality; support new product introductions and new equipment.
* Assist in managing external contractors and suppliers for engineering; contribute to training packs and coordinate training for the team.
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures; identify and report quality or compliance concerns and take corrective action as required.
* Support safety actions (ATS, Concern Reports) and ensure QA facilities, Preventative Maintenance, Calibration, Good Documentation Practices, and Material Segregation and Control requirements are followed.
* Comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System and related policies; complete planned Quality & Compliance training within deadlines.
* Ensure plant and equipment operate in a compliant manner to meet GMP regulations, quality standards and regulatory requirements; maintain high standards of housekeeping and GMP; support CAPA investigations and root cause analysis.


Qualifications And Experience

* Completed Engineering Qualification/Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrument Engineering or equivalent.
* Solid experience within a GMP manufacturing environment.
* Strong electrical and electronic repair and diagnostic skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
* General skills and expertise related to maintenance and facilities activities; demonstrate practical application of theoretical knowledge.
* Working knowledge of a regulated industry and GMP.
* High degree of computer literacy.


Desired Skills

* Experience with a CMMS, preferably Maximo.
* Experience in reliability-centered maintenance techniques (RCM), FMEA and equipment criticality assessments.
* Demonstrated Commitment, Engagement and Accountability.
