Data Management Lead - €600 Per Day
Role Overview:
Irish Government Regulatory authority based in South Co. Kildare needs a Data Delivery lead to join their team on a contract basis and assist in the delivery of an organisational development plan that will cover their data needs for the next few years.
The successful candidate will lead the development of new organisational IT plans covering master data management, data governance, data strategy, cost-optimization, innovation and efficiency. They will be responsible for the day-to-day acquisition, cleansing, maintenance and distribution of data across the organization’s IT Supports. Their primary focus will be on data quality and data lifecycle management, along with the exploitation of data assets to create business value. The Senior Data Lead will work closely with other IT team managers on Information organization, Data modelling, software design, software development and integration technology choices. They will drive technology selection and process decisions for enterprise data management, and ensure alignment with overall business needs for efficiency, stability, flexibility and customer usability
This role has hybrid working arrangements, with the Data Delivery Lead expected on site approximately 3 days per week. (Full remote working option not available. As this may occasionally increase at key project Junctures, the ideal candidate will have independent transport options, such as their own car.
While initially offered on a 6-month contract basis, the scale and scope of this role is such that there is a strong probability of it being extended well beyond this timeframe.
Responsibilities of role:
* Help to drive the data strategy to maximize value from data as an asset to the company, and identify and mitigate how to reduce the risk of data being a liability
* Work closely with Sr. Management and Risk to ensure data policies and standards are embedded and enforced. Oversee and report on data metrics.
* Create an operating model for data usage within and external to the firm
* Manage as required any Data vendors, sources, SLAs and associated licenses; actively target adoption of data sets procured or retirements of those no longer in use.
* Manage data quality and consistency across datasets to manage corporate risk
* Ensure integrity of delivery mechanisms managed to ensure data has been delivered and consumed by the consuming applications
* Act as a single point of contact for Data support and analysis on issues and new requirements within the consuming applications, ensuring that corrections are made to the source and the technology as required
* Will ensure Data Governance through good Data Management processes
* Build business performance dashboards with a business management system that provides timely information and insights that enable business to improve decisions, optimize processes and plans and work proactively.
Experience Required: Skills / Competencies:
* Seasoned IT professional with leadership qualities and background with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT.
* Five plus years of experience building and managing complex ETL infrastructure solutions.
* Five plus years of experience with distributed, highly scalable, multi-node environments utilizing Big Data ecosystems.
* Experience with and strong understanding of Data Warehousing and Big Data Hadoop ecosystems.
* Experience with Cloud solutions including admin. / deployment of data in AWS or Azure.
* Experience translating functional and technical requirements into technical specifications and design.
* Knowledge and experience of ELT implementations
* Experience with RDBMS technologies and SQL languages, Oracle & SQL Server a plus.
* Working knowledge of ACORD modeling a plus.
* Working knowledge of web technologies and protocols (JAVA/NoSQL/JSON/REST/JMS) a plus
* Expertise in creating and deploying best practices and methodologies
* Knowledgeable with different modelling techniques such as data modelling and/or predictive modelling
* Well-versed in related concepts of risk management, portfolio management, finance, actuarial sciences, operations.
* Aptitude for process and methods particularly as regards work allocation and resource scheduling
* Very good interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to influence in an international context
* Excellent organization and planning skills, ability to analyze and solve problems often involving cross functional teams having only a problem specific lifetime
* Must be comfortable with agile concepts and approaches for technology delivery
* High levels of commitment and energy combined with the ability to lead people, and the ability to influence outcomes
