Job Title: Manager, Software Engineering
We're seeking a talented Manager, Software Engineering to lead and guide a team of engineers working on delivering in-house applications. This role involves creating seamless and secure solutions, ensuring delivery of exceptional user experiences, and guiding a team that works across the stack contributing to both front-end and back-end architecture and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading, mentoring, and empowering a growing team of engineers to deliver against strategic business outcomes
* Establishing a strong and inclusive engineering culture within our office
* Assisting in the delivery of multiple projects across multiple platforms, helping teams estimate, plan, and slice projects to frequently deliver value to production
* Collaborating across business units and product teams spread over multiple timezones
* Executing against the team's vision, strategy, and roadmap
* Acting as a change agent, initiating appropriate changes to support continuous business improvement
* Comfort with proactively and independently working towards results in large, distributed team environments
Requirements:
* At least 6 years of experience in the software development industry
* At least 2 years of people management experience, with experience managing multiple teams or one larger team
* Able to manage, mentor, and empower teams, including other people managers
* Proven leadership skills and a passion for building, maintaining, and deploying both internal business applications and highly available services
* Strong communication, cross-group collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to flex communication style to work with business and non-technical users in addition to engineers
* Ability to balance priorities across multiple projects
* Ability to advise and influence technical discussions and decisions
* Experience with agile development practices emphasizing continuous improvement
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* Experience with Java, Kotlin, or similar technologies, and delivering microservices
* Prior experience with one or more of the following technologies or areas is a plus: React, React Native
