Mercer Global Investments Europe (MGIE) is seeking candidates for the following position based in our Dublin office: Head of Distribution & Management Oversight – 12 month contract.

As part of our Investment Solutions Distribution Management and Oversight Team, the successful candidate will lead the team in delivering critical aspects of the business' expansion and growth across Europe, UK, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. The Distribution Management & Oversight Team is designed to drive best practice, constituency and innovation in how the business approaches commercial expansion. The Distribution Management & Oversight Team are responsible for a range of activities across 60+ markets including, management of new market approvals and ongoing monitoring of regulatory compliance across all markets, fund registrations, distribution arrangement scoping, screening, due diligence and ongoing monitoring, governance reporting and more.
This role will be multi-faceted and fluid, requiring an individual that has a diverse background across Funds & Asset Management. The core experience and skills will be a combination of fund industry experience with focus on distribution a strong advantage, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and disciplined and proactive approach to work. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in distribution related regulations and should also have a commercially focused mindset in order to enable continued risk controlled growth across markets and segments.
We will rely on you to:
* Manage a team of seven professionals (based in Ireland and India) and providing mentorship on developmental opportunities.
* Leverage fund industry experience to collaborate with commercial and business teams for new business deliverables and opportunities. Develop strong relationships with both internal and external parties acting as a key point of contact.
* Lead large complex projects and/or commercial opportunities within the team (as well as across teams), working with colleagues to develop and continuously improve the operational infrastructure.
* Maintain and develop a wide network of effective relationships with key contacts both internal and external to build professional relationships, understand core stakeholder issues, identify pain points and improve working practices.
* Serve as an adviser to business leaders on market and distribution related matters, often communicating complex matters and their implications to the business.
* Participate in senior management committee meetings / forums and attendance at quarterly board meeting presentations.
* Reviewing the work of the team to ensure that their work is executed effectively, promptly and accurately so that the needs of internal and external stakeholders are consistently met and exceeded.
* Suggest improvements to team activities based on knowledge of emerging industry and regulatory requirements.
* Facilitate sales and segment leads as a centre of excellence across distribution focussed topics including commercial prioritisation and decision making.
* Participate to deliver reports and updates to funds' boards, and inputting into any other registration or regulatory compliance reporting.
* Evaluate and incorporate feedback and lessons learned from projects, and ensure continuous improvement and scalability of business solutions.
What you need to have:
* 5 plus years of distribution, fund registration and/or regulatory compliance experience.
* Strong attention to detail.
* A strategic and creative mindset, with the ability to generate and evaluate new ideas, solutions, and business models.
* A collaborative and inclusive approach, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels, both internally and externally.
* Experience of regulatory compliance in investments will be an advantage. Direct interaction with senior international stakeholders for delivery will be preferred.
* Excellent writing skills, ability to summarize researched information into insights that can drive decision-making.
* Strong communication skills to ensure issues clearly identified and explained to various interested parties.
* Energetic, proactivity and desire to see things done efficiently.
* Ability to communicate complex issues in a simple and coherent manner.
* Ability to lead team and develop talent.
